Welcome to WinUSB!
Windows bootable USB can be completely irreplaceable in many cases, for example, if you bought a computer without an operating system on board and you need to install it, or if your girlfriend wants you to reinstall Windows to her small laptop, that doesn’t have a DVD-ROM to insert the Windows installation disk.
Now I want to show, how you can create Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive via WinUSB in a few clicks, to install the newest operation system from Microsoft. WinUSB – small and portable application with an unimaginably simple interface!
In order to create Windows 10 Bootable USB, first you need an ISO file with a Windows image or an installation DVD disk. Do not be discouraged if you do not have this, read here how you can download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft website.
Now when you have an ISO image or an installation DVD, we can go directly to the completing of our task.
So, the first thing you need to download WinUSB, and run it.
Select USB drive and Windows 10 ISO or DVD
The next step is to select the flash drive that you want to make bootable in the drop-down list highlighted in the screenshot above. When plugged, the flash drive will be detected automatically.
Now click on one of the round buttons – ISO or DVD, depending on the type of Windows distribution that you have, and in the standard dialog box, select the source. After the selection, it will be displayed in the application as shown in the screenshot below.
Select format option
Ok, when the Windows distribution and USB stick are selected just click Next and see the WinUSB proposed option to create a Bootable USB drive. If there is enough USB stick free space, WinUSB will prompt you to make it bootable without formatting as shown bellow in the screenshot on the left.
If the space is not enough, WinUSB will offers you either to perform pre-formatting, or cancel it by pressing the “Back” button, free up enough space on the flash drive, and then come back to work option screen. Application will automatically detect the release of the space and will propose to continue without formatting.
Burning Windows 10 to USB
Ok, now, when format option selected, just click the “Yes” button to start Windows 10 Bootable USB drive creation! The completion percentage will be displayed by the progress bar, highlighted in the screenshot below.
At the finish of the process, a notification will be displayed, like on the screenshot below:
Excellent! Now you have your own Windows 10 Bootable USB drive! But if suddenly you want to make a multi-Windows Bootable USB drive, just add one or more ISOs of the operating system, simple repeating the process described above, all new ISOs will be simply burned together with the existing ones!
One important note: If you want install Windows to UEFI system using bootable USB drive with NTFS filesystem(most new machines can boot with both UEFI and BIOS) you need to disable UEFI secure boot option.
I would like to emphasize the main features of WinUSB:
- Easy to use
- NTFS flash drives supported to boot
- Both BIOS/UEFI are supported
- Multiboot USB drives supported
Thank you for using WinUSB! Hope to see you again 😉
