Create Windows 10 Bootable USB – Quickly and Easily

Create Windows 10 Bootable USB

Windows bootable USB can be completely irreplaceable in many cases, for example, if you bought a computer without an operating system on board and you need to install it, or if your girlfriend wants you to reinstall Windows to her small laptop, that doesn’t have a DVD-ROM to insert the Windows installation disk.

Now I want to show, how you can create Windows 10 bootable USB flash drive via WinUSB in a few clicks, to install the newest operation system from Microsoft. WinUSB – small and portable application with an unimaginably simple interface!

Here’s how to create a Windows 10 bootable USB Stick quickly and easily:

  1. Download the Windows 10 ISO file. Read how to download Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft, if you’re unsure.
  2. Download WinUSB
  3. Follow the steps below to use WinUSB
  4. That’s it, you’re done!

Once you’ve downloaded the ISO, click the link below to download WinUSB too. Then follow the steps below to create your Windows 10 bootable USB.

Download WinUSB

Select USB drive and Windows 10 ISO or DVD

The next step is to select the flash drive that you want to make bootable in the drop-down list highlighted in the screenshot above. When you plug in your USB stick, WinUSB will automatically detect it.

Now click on one of the round buttons – ISO or DVD, depending on the type of Windows distribution that you have. Then, in the standard dialog box, select the source by navigating to the DVD or the downloaded Windows 10 ISO file. After selection, it will be displayed in the application as shown in the screenshot below.

Select format option

Once the Windows distribution and USB stick are selected, click Next and see the WinUSB proposed option to create a Bootable USB drive. If there is enough free space, WinUSB will prompt you to make it bootable without formatting as shown bellow in the screenshot on the left.

If there isn’t enough space, WinUSB will offer the following options:

  • Format the Drive
  • Cancel by clicking Back
  • Clear Space on the drive manually. (WinUSB will automatically detect the release of the space and will propose to continue without formatting.)

Burning Windows 10 to USB

Ok, now, when format option selected, just click the “Yes” button to start Windows 10 Bootable USB drive creation! The completion percentage will be displayed by the progress bar, highlighted in the screenshot below.

Once the process finishes, you’ll be greeted by the below popup.

Excellent! Now you have created your own Windows 10 Bootable USB drive!

If suddenly you want to make a multi-Windows bootable USB drive, just add one or more ISOs of the operating system. Simply repeat the process described above. All new ISOs will be simply burned together with the existing ones!

Important note: If you want install Windows to UEFI system using bootable USB drive with NTFS filesystem (most new machines can boot with both UEFI and BIOS) you need to disable UEFI secure boot option.
